Hi,
I'm looking to buy 11" laptop for SuSE Linux. Asus EEE PC comes into mind, as well as Acer Aspire and Lenovo models. Anyone have used any of these, or comparable?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
What are your requirements? Budget?
I've got an EEE 1005HA and it's fine with openSUSE or pretty much any Linux distro I throw at it... but it's a netbook so it's got some performance limitations. I specifically picked the 1005HA because I could pop a cover off and upgrade the RAM from the 1Gb it came with to 2Gb... made a massive difference in the performance.
Anyway, if you're looking for just the basics, and something small... the EEE is a reasonable choice.
C,. Hi I have a 1000HE that rocks along fine as well, runs SLED, openSUSE (11.3 and 11.4) and Smeegol without any issues, it all works.
Yes, I upgraded mine to 2GB and also the 160GB drive to a 250GB one I had here. Next step is an SSD and will only run the latest openSUSE and SLED on it. -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° (Linux Counter #276890) SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (x86_64) Kernel 2.6.32.27-0.2-default up 8 days 8:28, 3 users, load average: 0.05, 0.09, 0.03 GPU GeForce 8600 GTS Silent - Driver Version: 260.19.36 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
