If you want, you still are allowed to subnet, allthough it is notYou'd better use other than MAC addresses for your IPv6 address then. Otherwise, it's possible you may wind up with two devices having the same IP address. As I mentioned in another note, the last 64 bits of the MAC based IPv6 address is the 1st 24 bits of the MAC, then FE, followed by the remaining 24 bits of the MAC.
