I also have absolutely nothing to gain.At the moment. However, there are other things in the works that make accessing your home network desirable. One simple example is home control & security. You could control your thermostat etc. remotely. People currently use those X11 modules for that. You can also check status & alarms or even security cameras remotely. Many, many more things are possible.
