I think you may have meant, logout/login.

But, I've never seen the need to do that either. I've not encounter a
situation where an application, proper installed, didn't show up in the
"Application Launcher Menu".



look and see if you have /etc/asterisk

That's where the configuration files live. Asterisk is sort of like
apache. It's a SIP server, you can't see it run.
