I want my speed back.
Am I going to have to go back to 11.0, or some other distro to get my system speed back?
Since I've installed 11.3, everything is soooo sloooow. It's downright painful.
Maybe I did something wrong.
You gave us no information which might lead to a good answer.
How did you measure the lack of speed? What's your CPU type& speed? Which 11.3 kernel? How much RAM? How much swap? Is swap being used? How much freespace on /, /usr, /var, /tmp, /home, other? Which DTE(s)? Which app(s) seem slower? Have you tested to ensure your HD hasn't begun death throes? Have you run memtest to ensure your RAM isn't going bad?
Some people have reported various difficulties with the stock 2.6.34 kernel. Have you tried the latest from build service's KOTD? http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_11.3/
Forgot important ones: Which GPU? How much RAM on gfxcard? Which video driver is being used now? Which video driver was 11.0 using? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Proverbs 16:21 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg.
