Hello SuSE people
I have been trying to download theopenSuse 11.3 iso for three days and
every time it stops prematurely. I successively tried the SuSE
repository, then a french one (much slower) and I am stuck at my secont
attempt from
http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/opensuse/distribution/11.3/iso/openSUSE
-11.3 -DVD-i586.iso (de, prio 130)
Which appears to be the fastest : 14 hours 27' only ! ! in my case.

The faster and most reliable method (it includes error correction) is
using a metalink capable downloader. There is info about that in the help
links of the download page.

The iso should be 4 Go and I have only 3.7 Go ( 3,961,190,992 Bytes
exactly). It is y best success until now, but I suppose it is not
complete and cannot be used as is.

Are you using a FAT disk as the destination of the download? you can't.

Thank you Jan, Tejas and Carlos.
I installed DownThemAll and downloaded a metalink iso from SuSE but did not
know
what to do with it
Then I found a list of Metalink compatible mirrors and I am downloading from it
it appears to be faster (13 hours 27 ' only) I hope it won't stop before end
and
will keep you informed of the résult.

Presently DownThemAll is using the metalink as a "referrer URL" ?

http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.3/iso/openSUSE-11.3-DVD-
i586.iso?mirrorlist

and I am downloading from

http://mirror.ovh.net/opensuse/distribution/11.3/iso/openSUSE-11.3-DVD-i586.iso

If everything goes right I should have the isot to-morrow morning. and it will
be thanks to you.
