Hi, I tried to install opensuse 11.3 x64 on my Toshiba U505-S2950. It wouldn't recognize the 11.3 install dvd even though it does recognize the 11.1 and 11.2 install dvds, so I had to use the net install cd and install the operating system via the internet. I spent some time working with the 11.3 system to get it working, and found that it would not start the cooling fan at any temperature. So I updated the kernel to the 2.6.36rc5 kernel, hoping that it would help. With that Kernel, the laptop processor got up to 78 degrees as read from cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ0/temperature, and the fan would't start. Would someone have some ideas about how to fix this? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
