I am getting an error for a sound device that doesn't exist and it is causing sound problems.
openSUSE 11.2 running KDE 4.5
Did it work before you upgraded to 4.5?
How could it, it does not now nor has it ever existed. The only Nvidia device in my PC is my GeForce 8400 GS graphics card.
If there is an HDMI output on the card then there is probably a sound device also on the graphics card. Try opening Yast's sound config and if you see it there then "delete" it, and make sure your USB sound device is default. Dx -- “ ‘... but there is so much else behind what I say.
