I encountered this a few

KDE 4.4. In short,
KAddressbook is in the midst of a transition dependent

Completion is scheduled for 4.5. The data is all still
there, but the
structure has changed, making it inaccessible for now.

Needless to say,
this has upset a lot of people. The only solution I found
is to manually
pull out this piece from Kontact and replace just it with
4.3.5. Fwiw,
Fedora and Kubuntu have the same issue.

The details are here (along
with a few temper tantrums), including the
tarball replacement with
instructions:

I built "legacy kaddressbook"
vs the rest of kdepim 4.4 in the OBS at
home:wstephenson:branches:KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop - it's currently based on
4.4.1 but I can update if there is demand - last time I brought it up nobody
raised their hands.

I've just upgraded to oS 11.3 + KDE4.4. I use
Kontact for e-mail,
addresses etc. and I've got several mail lists set
up based on
categories. These mail lists are still available in Kmail,
but I cannot
find how to add a category to a person's entry in the new
look Address
Book.

Has it gone, or am I looking in the wrong
place?

Or is there another way to select contacts to add to a mail
list?

Bob
