Another drawback of KDE4 is it does not allow to select desktop folder, a 
feature which existed in KDE3 and KDE2. In KDE4 you can choose a folder to 
display on the desktop but the .desktop files would be displayed with .desktop 
extention and their real file name, not the name inscribed inside.
