Sorry, I tried to reproduce everything but my error with cpugovernor is not reproducible. The only thing that stays is the reduce of the memory-aperture to 32MB. lower is not posible. On 25/07/10 19:39, Hans de Faber wrote:

Hi listmates I have a nice story after upgrading to 11.3. In the systemmonitor i activated the K10 teperature readout. I had always a very cool processor unbelievable. I was also missing the dynamic of the governor of the cpuspeed it runs 800-1900Mhz, i can't remember that saw 3100Mhz.
But now the story.
Sometime after the upgrade at the moment evething looks normal I always read all logs in /var/log Somewhere in the beginning of file boot.msg I read something like "Activate IOMMU in the bios" "You are losing 128MB of memory" Googling on IOMMU I found the bootparameter "iommu=memaper=". I set this param in grub on 3 and the boot.msg told me that i ame loosing now 256MB. So this param works. So now I set iommu=memaper=0 and the boot.msg told me i ame loosing now 32MB. So thats better.
Wonder wonder my K10 temperature readout and cpu dynamics are now equal as I had in 10.2.
If I startup some heavy loads my governor goes to 3100Mhz and the temp rises to 48 degrees celsius. Thats normal
I hope that this story is usefull for somebody, Hans -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
