Guys,
I have a strange problem with 11.3. I can't start compiz in kde3, but it runs fine in gnome or kde4. The error given each time in .xsession-errors is:
compiz (core) - Error: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0 compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
There is no longer any compiz support for kde 3 in openSUSE 11.3. Just as there is no official KDE3 support in 11.3. Let go of dead horses :) X11:Compiz by the way is being prepared for Compiz 0.9.0 (see my blog posts and messages on Factory). Which does not get any attention for KDE3 neither. If you need the KDE3 backens, you probably are best of branching the X11:Compiz packages (or X11:XGL, as X11:Compiz is already at 0.9) and re-enable and fiddle with the kde3 stuff. It will require different base distributions though, to get all the libs available and probably some patches added / changed.
