I have a Lenovo T400 laptop with a Qualcomm Gobi USB serial broadband card. Previously in openSUSE 11.2 I was able to get this card to work using version 0.3 of te gobi_loader. So I was surprised when I wiped the laptop installed 11.3 RC1 and not only was my card detected, but it worked right out of the box. Now I have wiped my drive and intsalled the final version of 11.3 only to find out that it no longer detects my card, but that I can also not get it to work using the gobi_loader. I went to the gobi loader site and discovered that the loader does not work with version 2.3.32 and above and that we will have to patch the kernel to get it to work. However, when I look at the qcserial.c file I see that my modem is listed as a supported device. Has anyone else gotten this device to work. Are there any plans to include the patch for the gobi loader in future updates or will I have to patch every kernel to get it to work?
If it worked and it doesn't, write a Bugzilla. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
