Has anyone tried installing 11.3 in VirtualBox yet? I've installed all the RCs etc (in both VBox and on real HDs) and had no issues outside of the known issues that were discussed at the time.... but the full release dies during the install in VBox.
The 11.3 ISO (64 bit) boots fine, and does the initial install process as expected. On reboot though, it locks up. The boot log gets to: Copying static /dev content and never gets any further.
I just tested 11.3RC2, using the exact same settings/virtual HD etc., and it installs/boots just fine. Swap back to the 11.3 ISO and do a reinstall... and it locks up after the initial reboot.. same place.. copying static /dev content.
Anyone else seeing this?.
I been running the 32 bit version in VBox since release day with no problems. What version of VBox are you using? I'm running 3.2.6 r63112 (not OSE) on an os 11.2 32 bit workstation.
Host OS is 11.2 x86_64 running VBox 3.2.6 r63112 (from the vbox website). I'm trying to install the 64 bit version of 11.3... which should work with the 64 bit host (and does work with other 64 bit guest Linux installs). I can't yet pin down what's going wrong... basically RC2 installs fine, but the full release fails right after the initial reboot.
