I did what the subject says. One strange thing: at the end of the update, the screen went black. I could not get to any other virtual terminals. I am guessing the system crashed. After giving up on getting any response, I cycled the power. (I know...) The grub menu had 11.1 and 11.3 kernels as a choice, but the 11.1 was the default. I choose the 11.3 and the system came up and seems to be working. My questions: 1. Where can I see how far the install/update got before the apparent crash? 2. I see that the 11.1 kernel/initrd files are still in /boot. In fact, the kernel RPM from 11.1 is still present. Perhaps I should repair the system with the 11.3 install DVD? Or is there some other option? This is just 'for fun' as the partition can easily just get a new 11.3 install. But I want to know what problems I could get in to on systems I really just want to update. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
