Looking at the documents that Adam sent you, but to be honest if I
were to set up cloud computing, I would use SUSE Enterprise Linux 11,
when you sent up a server it has an option when you set up a new
server if you want to be a part of cloud, or Xen Server, or physical
box. I am really impress with the set of SLE11.

Have you tried SUSE Studio? Need to create a Live CD, an app you want
to package and distribute , or create your own linux distro. Give SUSE
Studio a try. www.susestudio.com.

WTF are you talking about and what does this have to do with openSuSE???
If you want to create your own cloud, you are going about it
completely wrong.
What you need is a volume of water, apply heat and then capture the vapor.
Then
you will have created a cloud. FTP has nothing to do with it...
