Possibly, but I'm not even getting a kernel panic message - it
doesn't even seem to be getting that far. Nevertheless, I'll wait a
few days and see if the next update fixes it. Thanks.

Just to let you know. I got the same Problem here on openSUSE 11.1
with the 2.6.34-49.1-default with an old Asus A7N8x-delux.

I'm getting Grub, but then only a black screen with no other activity

I will now test if i can boot from the 11.3RC1 Installations DVD ...

ok ... When i boot into the 2.6.34 with vga-normal, i get an error
message wich says

kernel-panic - not syncing (...)

But, i can load the Installation DVD with the same kernel
(11.3RC1)

Michael

I wonder if a file system driver that was previously built into the kernel has
now been switched to a module and not included in initramfs? I might have to
try to dig a little deeper (next month, though, because this month is a write-
off being end-of-financial-year and all that...)
