You are aware its still packaged for 11.2 and I assume 11.3 will follow:

But even KDE 3.5 was not intended for a netbook or olpc class machine
I don't think.  OTOH, 11.3 is going to have a new entire desktop
option, LXDE.  It is a lightweight desktop that might fit that class
machine.
