When I power up my desktop, it takes a while to boot. Upon hitting the ESC key, I see COMRESET messages on the screen for SATA ports that have no devices connected on them. The system eventually boots. Google search suggested some solutions like turning off ACPI, which I have tried to no avail.
..... snip ..... Solved! It was the damn SATA cable attached to the DVD writer; to add salt to injury it came bundled in the box with the Intel motherboard. Replaced it with a no brand name cable and no COMRESET messages. -- Arun Khan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
