[opensuse] On 11.2 - display size will not stick

I recently installed 11.2 and by default the display was configured for
1280x1024.
I can go into Personal Settings - Configure Desktop and change it to
1024 x 768.
But every time X restarts it changes back.
I tried running and changing it in - sax2 - but then the font size don't
change - stays small.
Unless I'm daffy - could be - where do I change it to get it to stick ?
