Hello list,
Hello...
Problem: from time to time, the NFS server fails to fully start at boot.
Probably i am wrong but I solved similar problem 2 or 3 years ago. Is there any new service installed ? I installed the whole server only 2 or 3 weeks ago, but I don't remember adding a new service recently no. One boot, the NFS server starts

If your answer is yes, you've alter the sequence your daemons start on. My server on rc3 indicates S05nfs. try to change to S06 or 7 but never before network On OS 11.1, it seems the link is called rc5.d/S09nfsserver (checking on a comparable server on the corporate network here). I can check at home if the name is the same. But as far as I know, the OpenSuSE init scripts have their own way of handling the dependencies between themselves.
(Is your IP established when nfs try to start?) Looking at the sequence of events, yes. There may be delays between the card being configured and it being actually available, due to some negotiation with the switch, but since I use a non-manageable dumb switch, this shouldn't take very long.
