I got something similar, not yet found what happens. I'll try to find the cause today... Thanks. On Wed, Mar 17, 2010 at 5:27 AM, Philippe Andersson <pan@iba-group.com> wrote:
Hello list,
I migrated my home server to a new box (Dell PE2650) a couple of weeks ago. Installed with OS 11.2, 32bit, fully patched.
Problem: from time to time, the NFS server fails to fully start at boot. The "modprobe nfsd" has clearly happened, but the nfsd kernel threads are not present. Mount requests from clients are rejected with "RPC program not registered". If I then "rcnfssserver start" by hand, everything is started properly. I've looked at the logs, but there's no error message. The usual NFS startup entries are just not there.
Quick Google search hasn't turned anything up.
Has anyone else seen this ?
TIA
Cheers. Bye.
