I gave up any tries. I use VirtualBox + Windows for tests.
You can also try PlayOnLinuex for installing IEs.
I also gave up on the ies4linux, and use XEN + Windows, also using a VM may seem like a bloated way to test something but it gets rid of any uncertainty of is it IE or is it wine causing any problems.
