I boot this morning and I seem to have problems .. Now, running "kdesu yast" in an xterm produces what seems to be nothing, until I run "ps -ef" and see anton 17146 15722 0 07:29 ? 00:00:00 /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesud root 17149 17146 0 07:29 pts/8 00:00:00 /bin/su root -c /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu_stub - root 17151 17149 0 07:29 pts/8 00:00:00 /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu_stub root 17152 17151 0 07:29 ? 00:00:00 /bin/bash /sbin/yast root 17193 17152 8 07:29 ? 00:00:02 /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base menu ncurses That doesn't look right. Why is this happening of a sudden? I'm sure someone is gong to suggest I try "yast2", so I did. No luck with that either: $ kdesu yast2 kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::PtyProcess::exec: [ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.4.0/kdesu/process.cpp : 295 ] Running "/bin/su" kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::SuProcess::ConverseSU: [ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.4.0/kdesu/su.cpp : 259 ] Read line "Password: " kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::KDESuPrivate::KCookie::getXCookie: No X authentication info set for display ":0" QProcess: Destroyed while process is still running. kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::PtyProcess::exec: [ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.4.0/kdesu/process.cpp : 295 ] Running "/bin/su" kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::SuProcess::ConverseSU: [ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.4.0/kdesu/su.cpp : 259 ] Read line "Password: " kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::PtyProcess::WaitSlave: [ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.4.0/kdesu/process.cpp : 381 ] Child pid 15803 kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::SuProcess::ConverseSU: [ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.4.0/kdesu/su.cpp : 259 ] Read line "" kdesu(15681)/kdesu (kdelibs) KDESu::SuProcess::ConverseSU: [ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs-4.4.0/kdesu/su.cpp : 259 ] Read line "kdesu_stub" No cookie? That's never happened before. What changed/? I upgraded to 11.2 two days ago, but I've used yast successfully since then. -- Misspeled? Imposable.
