Do you know if I can use any multiple of 512 bytes?
Not just 4*512 but even even 100 * 512 ?
The bigger blocksize the faster I presume..
Yes that's the rule - as far as I know, any multiple of 512 is fine, but
the optimal blocksize will depend on the hardware. I often use 65536.
