Hi!
I know this is an openSUSE list, but since there has been a lot of discussion on the future of KDE3, I though this might be interesting to openSUSE users. I was thinking if SUSE Enterprise Desktop 11 offers support for KDE3? According to the package list there are parts of KDE3 included, but it is not clear to me if these are only for being able to run KDE3 apps on KDE4, or if KDE 3.5.10 can be installed such that it is supported by SUSE. I personally am not too keen to move from KDE3, and am tired of upgrading distros yearly (and hence reconfiguring everything from the ground up for my accessibility needs) just because the support cycles are so short. So, does SLED 11 offer an alternative to openSUSE on this score?
SLED 11 only contains basic libraries to allow some KDE3 applications to run. Otherwise KDE 3 is not available for SLED 11. With the long support time some cut had to be made to make it still supportable. SLED 10 on the other side still has KDE 3.... just a hint :) ciao, Stefan -- Stefan Behlert, SUSE LINUX - a Novell business, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany Phone +49-911-74053-0 SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Nuernberg; GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
