kde4 Devs,
Another problem I am having with the plasma desktop is that the plasma widgets no longer have the little flyout rectangle with resize, configure, kill, etc.. Restarting plasma I get:
Firstly are your widgets locked? That disables the toolbox flyout.
No, no, no -- I do at least know that much. The widgets are not locked :p
15:50 alchemy:~> kbuildsycoca4 running... Invalid D-BUS interface name 'org.kde.plasma-desktop.PlasmaApp' found while parsing introspection
It happens because the '-' character is illegal in dbus names, but KUniqueApplication takes the application name ('plasma-desktop' and prepends org.kde. to it. This warning is currently harmless since nothing enforces the rule, and a fix to KUniqueApplication is planned.
Hmm, the question I guess is "Why haven't I seen it before now?"
What's wrong with the dbus interface and could this be the reason I don't have the flyouts on widgets anymore?? How do I fix this?
Is the right click menu on the desktop missing as well? This behaviour happens when the configured activity plugin (eg simpledesktop, desktop, folderview, Search And Launch) cannot be loaded by Plasma. Check your installation and if necessary move away your plasma-desktoprc
With the jump to 4.3.95, most of this has taken care of itself. We'll let this set of problem be relegated to history and start on the new set in 4.3.95 ;-) <snip> -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
