[opensuse] numa performance problems on 11.1 running linux 2.6.27

Has anyone observed or investigated performance problems on
11.1 (linux 2.6.27) on NUMA systems ?
I have a performance problem with a cpu intensive program that has
four instances, one locked to each core. It's not the hardware, an
earlier version of linux running on the same hardware did not have this
problem (linux 2.6.15).
If you have any suggestions for analyzing the issue, I would appreciate it.
