I'm thinking about getting a color laser printer. It has 4 toners, ie black, red, yellow, and blue. I've never had a color one before, so my question is do all the toners run low at the same time? They are about 150€ each and if I had to replace them all at once it would hurt.
In my HP, all four can be changed separately. I changed the black one recently. The snag is that the printer estimates the used toner by number of pages, probably without considering printed area and density. I wonder if such a thing could be done and hooked to cups?
Anyway, I'm looking at a very good deal on a Samsung CLX-6210FX. Does anyone know anything about this printer and Linux?
No, but google for it. Look in linuxprint.org (from memory), if it is supported. Consider if it is supported by linux natively or needs some driver from the manufacturer (I prefer it doesn't or that the driver is at least open source). - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
