Also you might want to look at this: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ You can use the net install disc which is ~100mb to test. You might have to manually download the iso from opensuse.org first if they haven't added the info for 11.2 yet. Honestly if the LAN doesn't work during install it probably won't work after (except for wifi, most need some sort of driver or fimrware)
For the sake of posterity I'd like to say I got everything working now and the broadcom card needed the installation of broadcom_wl off of packman zyppher install broadcom_wl AND then you need to load the modules The B43 modules et al should be blacklisted by the install but I needed to load the drivers by hand and needed to add them to the init scripts. modprobe -r b43 The modules modprobe broadcom modprobe wl this is for the Broadcom 4312 b/g card which is not supported by the Linux kernel as of yet Ruben
OK - I finally got it to boot by using the default kernel instead of the desktop kernel and I downloaded from packman the broadcom modules, but it doesn't seem to work.. The problem might be related to the fact that the physical hardware for the wifi has a switch on the front of the case near the on/off window, but it still never seems to turn on...I'm not sure. And suddenly the sound is working.
