Just a follow-up. After wiping and reinstalling 11.2 on my x86_64
laptop,
I now have kde3 menus and control center module entries. When I
reinstalled 11.2 I moved my /home directory to force a rebuild of
everything (kinda defeats the purpose of preserving home...). The menus
are there and all control center modules are present and work. However, it
looks like I'm still missing an icon theme, but all is good with kde3.

Hi David

I didn't monitor the original report, but I'm trying to give kmenuedit some
love and reviewing all its bug reports leads me to believe that a bug in
merging user edited menus would cause messed up kde3 menus, kcontrol modules,
and kde3 screensavers.

If this describes your issue and you see this again, try moving aside the
contents of ~/.local/share/desktop-directories/ (preserving them for me to
autopsy).
