Recently I read about Google's DNS server. How to change my ISP's DNS to Google's through KNetworkManager? KNM displays 'auto eth0' is connected, but does not allow it to be edited. YaST does allow me to change the DNS, saying that it is handled by KNM. Any tips, please?
KNM can't edit system connections yet. Add a new connection, with either Manual or Automatic (IP addresses only) IP settings and enter the Google DNS server(s) in the "DNS Servers" field - I think 8.8.8.8 is one of them. Note that NM always tries system connections first so if you want to only use your manual connection you can disable NM in YaST and delete the network card's configuration, then re-enable NM to get rid of 'Auto eth0'.
