however smart is discussed. I have at least one disk that gives smart errors for three years now, without any other sign of failing :-)
It depends on what the error is. An error while remapping a sector is usually very bad news. You have to look at this variable: ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 100 100 036 Pre-fail Always - 0 and perhaps another one, like Current_Pending_Sector or Offline_Uncorrectable, I think. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
