/etc/sysconfig/yast2:PKGMGR_ACTION_AT_EXIT you might want to set to "restart".
/etc/sysconfig/yast2 also includes a list of valid settings.
You might manipulate the setting with the YaST sysconfig editor or any text editor.

Another big thanks! John
And here, too. But my copy on 11.1 had no such entry; I had to add it, so it doesn't have all the nice explanations the others have.

Well for you, and any other 11 users here is stuff needed at the bottom of /etc/sysconfig/yast2
## Type: list(close, restart, summary) ## Default: "close" # Set the default behavior of the package manager when package installation has finished. # Possible actions are: # close - just finish the package manager # restart - go back to the package manager, install/remove more packages # summary - display an installation summary dialog, there user can decide whether to finish or restart # The summary dialog is always displayed when an installation error has occured. PKGMGR_ACTION_AT_EXIT="restart"
That's great, John, except that for those who read the above should realise that the third last line - "restart" - is part of the comment line/s (those starting with the '#' ) above it and is not a new command instruction "restart". (Why aren't the more modern HTML-format lines allowed in this - or similar - forum but insist on text-only messages which only cause confusion at times?)
