I have the same thing.  Then you have to wait while it digs thru all the 
repositories again.

Which would be fine if it could do that quickly, but its still fairly slow.

Very irritating.  I seem to remember past releases would return so you
could keep it idling as you discover more things you want to install.

Ubuntu asks before exit.
