I'm sorry to raise this kind of criticism on openSUSE in particular (being my preferred distribution) and Linux in general, but unfortunately I have no choice. I refer to the problems of yet non-full support of the Plug and Play devices, as happened for example for the last two USB web cams, which I tested both on 11.1 and 11.2 GM. The first cam belongs to the "SONIX SN9C20x bridge" group and this neither presented the slightest of operation, although it is correctly detected by the kernel. The second one belongs to the "UVC group" and it is a video camera with embedded microphone; this is working normally as video device, but fails completely with the audio part. Needless to say that both web cams, work perfectly with Windows XP and Windows Vista, including the audio portion of the integrated microphone. Wonder how many years we (Linux-users) have to wait, until reach the same P&P capabilities?
