Has anyone else run into the problem of burning DVD's? K9copy, Dvd95, and XDVDShrink - ALL - lock up the system tighter than a crabs butt - on ALL systems I've tried it on!! All boxen are 64-bit and updated 11.2. ALL have codecs and libdvdcss.

Sorry, Fred, I don't have a 64-bit system but......isn't k9copy not a *burner* application? It uses k3b to *burn* if you set it to do so but k9's purpose, I have always assumed, is to make backup copies of DVDs (which are then *burned* by k3b [or equivalent]).
Yep.....sorry bout that, but you knew what I meant. There's some common code they all use which is really messed up!!
Fred
Try using brasero instead of k3b.
It would seem that Fred is having the problem with k9copy itself - but I don't know if he has k3b set up as the burner to auto burn the DVD when he starts k9copy and so if using this combo is the cause of his problem still remains unknown. (Fred is being rather cagey about what he states re his hassle :-) .)

If it's a k9copy using k3b problem using brasero will at least prove that's what the problem is. I found out about brasero when I started using k9copy and I prefer it for simple image to dvd burning as it's much less resource hungry than k3b. I use k3b for more complicated dvd burning.
