Even tho I have hplip installed in 11.2, no scanners are found.

When defining a printer, (which also should use hplip) it only
allows selection of hplip for a locally attached printer.

(mine is a HP OfficeJet 7310xi network attached printer - cat5)

Is the HPLIP version installed by 11.2 broken, or some how limited
to locally attached printers?

It used to work in 10.3, and does work in Kubuntu).

AND Ubuntu as well! YES....it's "busted" in 11.2....BADLY! I doesn't see
HP printers....USB and not shared even!! What I had to do was use Yast
to install my Photosmart Pro. 8850, which is a mid-size pro. printer. I
prefer hplip, but at this point, I'm just glad to
have the printer working. Try Yast and see if you can install it.

It works for my HP Laserjet 1018, except for the issues I described in the
other mail.
