By the way, another symptom I didn't mention that's less an issue for me is that microphone input also seems not to get through to applications. Neither Skype nor Second Life voice get microphone input.
Check your mixer settings. Depending on your card, you may need to adjust more than one thing. For instance, my old SoundBlaster card has a fairly complicated mixer set and to record from my mic, I have to make sure that "Mic Select" has "Mic1", the mic slider is not muted *but* has "Capture" underneath it checked, and that the special "Capture" slider has "Capture" checked. (Yes, that last part is a bit confusing.) Then check your volume levels (Skype will automatically adjust the "Capture" volume for me, so I leave it at 0, but I make sure to have the mic volume where I like it) and you should be good to go. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
