Hello :-) first mail from 11.2 :-)
I just installed 11.2 (from live cd).
I also installed thunderbird (3.0b4). I (as always) linked .thunderbird to the old .thunderbird on my old home.
all is well, except that the new thunderbird have a master passwd installed, when I never used one! of course I don't know what it is.
is there any default master pass, or how can I remove this (th esk for the old pass if I want to remove the old)
thanks jdd
Sorry, but the TB in 11.2 does not have the password set. If you want to use a master password then you have to deliberately set it yourself (like in all previous versions). What do you mean by "I ... linked .thunderbird to the old .thunderbird on my old home"? Via a symlink, or what? Why not just simply copy ~/.thunderbird across to the new installation and be done with it? No "linking" is required. I have been doing this for years without any problems - but it would pay to recheck the Edit/Preferences settings as there has been at least one change in 3.ob which was pointed out to me today.
