After connecting by cisco vpn client, try to change MTU size of your
VPN interface:
sudo ifconfig cipsec0 mtu 1200
or
sudo ifconfig cipsec0 mtu 1000
if possible, try to using kvpnc with vpnc

Not sure if you got my reply, I didn't see it show on the list, so
here it is again:
Is the machine that you are trying to reach (ssh to) on you local LAN
or on the remote network that you VPN to?
- James
Thank you, James.
I am not sure since I don't know the definitions of local LAN and remote
network in this context. I am trying to reach (ssh to) a computer that
belongs to the network I am connected to through the VPN channel. So I guess
the answer is remote network.
Anyway the same vpnclient in openSUSE 10.3 works perfectly on the same
computer. And If I remember correctly it works on another openSUSE 11.1 box
as well, though I have to check it again.
Could it be a configuration or maybe a hardware/kernel-version (network card)
issue?
Thanks again,
Istvan
