How do I see in that output that the last insert disk has one
partition and that this partition is named sdc1? Come to it, how do
I see which is the last attached one if I would have more than one
USB storage device?
I know my tools, and lsusb ain't one of them if I need to find out
the device name for mounting in a rescue system.
I stay with my advice -- "dmesg | tail" is the easiest way to find
out the device name of a newly plugged in USB storage device in a
rescue system. There is no need to get the previous content of
/proc/partitions and compare it with the version after plugging in;
just calling one command is sufficient.

Or, "dmesg | tail", after you plugged in the USB disk and waited
Yuck. Use the correct tools.
