Err, I aways hate to say no, so I won't. But I will tell you that on one

Four years!? That's a long time, I was worried that the disk would fail quite
soon. Although of course your disk is not my disk...
Seeing as yours is an older disk, it might not be uncommon to get bad sectors.
However, mine is relatively new, so I think it's a bit early to get bad
sectors that can't be remapped.

You will notice these messages repeat like clockwork every 30 minutes. And,
no I am not worried about the data on this box. I'm really kind of curious
to see how long it lives like this.

Yes, they do appear like clockwork, every 30 minutes. If it was an older
system, I think I would be inclined to just let it run.

So, If you are concerned about your data, get a new drive, if this is like
a machine for your kids or something and they are just in the playing ages
(3-10), then just let it keep going and see what happens. I've been
waiting for 4 years and still no melt-down...

I have a good back-up, and can go back four weeks if needed. However, reading
the comments in this thread, I will be looking into getting a replacement.

Thanks for the advice,

Joop
