What is the effect of using the trace kernel? I was always under the impression that it would run more slowly because it had trace functions throughout, but I read recently, that it's for also for use in RT applications where timing is key and is called trace because it's used for benchmarking? What type of things does one lose with using that kernel if it is supposedly 'faster'? Or is it?
