Because not every linux install uses a gui. Lots of server setups run at
init 3 or don't even have a gui installed. Pine and Mutt are used
heavily still. They're quick, they don't use much resources, and they
get the job done. Just because YOU refused to touch pine or mutt doesn't
mean I or others don't use it.
