Hello Per,I have an Epson scanner and I didn't have to get the proprietary
I have an Epson scanner I'm quite satisfied with (don't remember the
exact model, it's at home -- I can check and report back later).
The Epson scanners only work in Linux via a proprietary driver (provided
in RPM format by Epkowa). I've not checked in a while, but as far as I
know, they only exist in 32bit version => if your linux is 64bit, you'd
have to make do with the GUI provided by the driver (usable, but not great).
If you're on a 32bit install, the driver integrates with SANE and Kooka,
so it's even better.
