Hello,
system: openSUSE 11.1
I just switched from traditional ifup to Networkmanager in YaST.
I have two devices: eth0 which should be _not_ active and wlan0 which should be the active connection.
Ok, setup works fine, added wlan0 with KNetworkmanager, added local IP 192.168.1.3 and gateway / DNS 192.168.1.1.
Ok, should work now, but when I try e.g. ping www.heise.de I get "network unreachable"?
/sbin/ifconfig still lists eth0 and wlan0.
So, how can i disable eth0 with Networkmanager? ifconfig always lists it, but only wlan0 should be there, eth0 being passive.
This is what I did before with the ifup method, eth0 was down, wlan0 is up and everyhting was fine. Now, with Networkmanager I can't connect, and both are up, eth0 and wlan0.... I guess I have to stop eth0.
Thanx Malte
The only way eth0 can be active is if you have a cat5 cable plugged in. Show us the results of ifconfig. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
