Dear List, Any MPI administrators and/or gurus reading this list? I am trying to compile an mpi program library in opensuse 11.2. (http://trilinos.sandia.gov/packages/pytrilinos/) First of all, I have to configure that program package, by defining explicitly all mpi directories because, as it seems, in opensuse these are not in standard locations.. I have to do something like this: ./configure --prefix=/home/sampsa/trilinos/trilinos-9.0.3/linux_mpi --enable-mpi --with-mpi-compilers=/opt/mpich/ch-p4/bin --with-mpi-libdir=opt/mpich/ch-p4/lib --with-mpi-incdir=/opt/mpich/ch-p4/include --enable-pytrilinos Interestinly, if I type man mpi I get advices, such as.. "Add MPI to your path % set path = ( $path /usr/local/mpi/bin )" But the directory "/usr/local/mpi" does not exist in my distro (although both mpich and openmpi have been installed). But back to the point.. when I launch the configure script of pytrilinos, I get this kind of messages.. "checking whether we are using the GNU C++ compiler... no checking whether /opt/mpich/ch-p4/bin/mpicxx accepts -g... no" Then when I run manually sampsa@linux-912g:~/trilinos/trilinos-9.0.3/linux_mpi> /opt/mpich/ch-p4/bin/mpicxx /opt/mpich/ch-p4/bin/mpicxx: line 410: g++: command not found So it seems that the mpi installation in opensuse is quite hosed, to say the least. Any ideas how to configure mpi properly? Regards, Sampsa -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
