[opensuse] Lost sound in KDE 4.3.1 release 163

Hi,
Since rebooting my computer this afternoon, I have lost sound. Normally, I
open Kmix, to find the the master volume has been muted, but Kmix won't start
now, just the bouncing icon. Doing kmix on a command line does nothing. The
soundcard produces test noises in the Yast sound module.
Any suggestions?
Bob
