[opensuse] open Office file dialogs don't show navigation tree - how to fix?

Listmates,

On opensuse 11.0 after update to the latest openOffice 3.1.1.1-1.1, the
file
open dialogs seem to have reverted back to some old style of dialog that
doesn't have a navigation tree ( whatever you call it ) that allows you to
easily navigate up and down through directories. What I see now is shown here:

I'm sure this is a situation where I need to change an option to use my
kde
dialogs in openOffice, or something similar, but I can't find the setting.

What's the trick?
